About Us / Our structure
Our CIO
A plain-language look at the charitable structure behind The Revivor Foundation, a Sunderland charity serving families and communities in Newcastle and across North East England.
In simple terms
A charity with its own legal identity.
A Charitable Incorporated Organisation, or CIO, is a legal structure designed for charities. It gives the organisation its own identity, so it can hold responsibility for its work, enter agreements, and manage its affairs in its own name.
A CIO also comes with duties. It must act for its charitable purpose, use resources responsibly, and be accountable to the people and communities it exists to support.
This page is a general explanation, not legal advice. The formal details of the organisation should always be checked against its current governing documents and regulator information.
Our charitable purpose
Making support more reachable.
The Revivor Foundation exists to support mental health and wellbeing, with particular care for children, young people, families, and the wider community.
We work towards that purpose through compassionate support, family and community connections, online and telephone sessions, workshops, training, and other activities that help people take a positive next step.
Our purpose is not about promising a perfect outcome. It is about making space to listen, reducing barriers, and helping people find support that fits their circumstances.
Transparency
Clear information builds trust.
We are committed to being open about who we are, how we are governed, what we do, and what information is still being confirmed.
As details are ready to share, this page can hold links to formal documents, policies, trustee information, and other public records. We will label placeholders clearly rather than fill gaps with assumptions.
