Trustees & committee

Good governance gives our Sunderland charity a steady foundation for counselling, family mental health and community support in Newcastle and across North East England.

How it works

Shared responsibility, held clearly.

Trustees are the people with legal responsibility for a charity’s direction, stewardship, and accountability. They help make sure the organisation stays focused on its charitable purpose and acts responsibly.

A committee is a group formed to support a particular area of work. It can bring useful knowledge, community perspective, and practical challenge to the decisions around the charity.

The two roles work together. Trustees retain overall responsibility, while committees can help explore issues in more detail and make recommendations within the responsibilities given to them.

Chair — Graham Sleep

Graham brings global experience in business management, strategic leadership, and coaching and mentoring across corporate organisations and SMEs. He has served on charity boards for over twenty years in various roles, with experience in governance, risk management, HR, business development, succession, and supporting people through organisational change.

Graham also brings lived experience of cognitive disability and neurodiversity, as well as mental-health challenges within his family. His own experience of ME/CFS and neurodiverse behaviours, alongside the support Sharon has provided to his family, gives him a strong affinity with the work of The Revivor Foundation.
